About Quick Image Compress
Quick Image Compress is a free online tool for reducing image file size. You open it in a browser, add a JPG, PNG, or WebP file, and download a new copy. There is no account.
The point of the site is practical. A photo that looks fine on your screen can still be too large for a web page, a form, an email, or a message you want to send. The tool helps you make a smaller file for that job, then shows the size you actually got.
Formats and features
The compressor accepts JPG, PNG, and WebP. Other file types are turned away. Each file also has to stay within the size and pixel limits shown by the tool.
You can compress an image with a quality setting, or aim at a target file size such as 100KB or 200KB. A target is a goal. The result card says whether the file landed at or below it. Optional resizing lets you change the width and height before compression. When you finish more than one image, you can download each file or save the finished images together as a ZIP.
Results depend on the image
A smaller file is common, but it is not promised for every picture. The outcome depends on the original image, the format, and the settings you choose. A detailed photo and a simple logo do not shrink the same way. A file can also stay about the same size, or come out larger. When that happens, the tool reports the real size instead of calling it a saving.
Compression runs in your browser. This version does not send the image to an application server. The privacy policy explains that handling, including what an ordinary website host can still see in its logs.
Our Approach
The site is meant to stay simple. The main controls are on one page: add an image, choose a setting, compress, and download. Extra pages start at a common file-size goal so you do not have to hunt for the right control.
The written guides explain the same controls in plain language. They cover tradeoffs, such as when a lower quality or a smaller width is the useful next step, and they do not treat a target size as a guarantee.
Helpful Guides
The blog has short guides for file size, image formats, pixel dimensions, and compressing photos on a phone or a Mac. Each one follows the tool on this site.
